Columbus, IL Designated Smart Rural Community by NTCA and Adams Fiber

Columbus, IL – The village of Columbus has officially earned the prestigious Smart Rural Community (SRC) designation from NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association. This recognition, in partnership with Adams Fiber, highlights Columbus’s commitment to harnessing advanced broadband technology to foster innovation and improve quality of life.

At a special meeting of the Columbus Village Board, Lori Miller, Marketing Coordinator, and Danielle Flesner, Graphic Designer, from Adams Fiber presented the honor to Mayor Rob Winters and the Village Board, celebrating this significant achievement.

“Our designation as a Smart Rural Community showcases the forward-thinking vision of Columbus,” shared Lori Miller. “This partnership is about more than technology. It’s about creating meaningful connections and ensuring Columbus remains a vibrant, thriving community for all.”

To date, Adams Fiber has invested over $200,000 in state-of-the-art fiber infrastructure in Columbus, paving the way for advancements in key areas such as:
