Quincy has officially joined a growing list of communities recognized as Smart Rural Communities (SRC) by Adams Fiber and NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association. The designation celebrates Quincy’s commitment to advancing innovation, connectivity, and opportunity through access to high-speed fiber internet.
Adams Community Relations Coordinator Mindi Kirkhart presented the recognition during a recent Quincy City Council Meeting, commending local leaders and residents for their vision and partnership in supporting fiber broadband expansion.

“This recognition is more than just a title; it’s a testament to the power of connectivity and the incredible impact it has on the lives of your community members. High-speed internet is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity, strengthening relationships, advancing education, improving healthcare, and driving business growth”, stated Kirkhart.
Through Adams Fiber’s Smart Rural Community initiative, Quincy now joins a network of towns across west-central Illinois that are leveraging broadband to enhance education, healthcare, economic development, and overall quality of life. The designation includes roadside signage, community recognition materials, and inclusion in national SRC spotlights.
Adams Fiber continues to expand its Smart Rural Community presence throughout the region, with more towns slated to receive the designation in the coming months.
