Golden, IL—Adams employees have been participating in a “Good Deeds” campaign in recognition of the Cooperative’s 65th Anniversary since June. The campaign allows employees to give back to the local community by performing acts of community service or “Good Deeds”.
The end goal is to perform 65 “Good Deeds” or various acts of community service to Adams Cooperative service area and the surrounding communities. Since its inception, over twenty employees have participated in the program so far and have made numerous positive impacts in multiple surrounding communities. The campaign will run through December.
Their most recent “Good Deeds” have included volunteering in support of several organizations in Quincy, including assisting with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, pouring concrete at QU Stadium, taking tickets at QND sporting events, and donating wild game to Raptor Rehab. In the surrounding area, employees spent time cleaning up landscaping at North Adams Home in Mendon, setting up and running the sound system for Lutherfest in Augusta, cleaning up brush at Bailey Park in Camp Point, and playing bingo at Golden Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
Jim Broemmer, CEO, states, “I’m extremely proud to see our employees uniting with their co-workers to support area causes in celebration of our 65th Anniversary.”
Broemmer adds, “They have given their time and energy to make a difference in numerous lives in the surrounding communities through this initiative. Assisting others has always been important to Adams’ core values, and we would love to see our efforts inspire and motivate other individuals and organizations to offer their time and manpower to local non-for-profit groups.”
During their acts of service, employees are wearing specially designed shirts for the campaign. “Good Deeds” are being highlighted on Adams Facebook page and were also recently spotlighted at the company’s Annual Meeting on September 13, 2017.
