New cooperative will officially begin operating January 1, 2027

GOLDEN, IL. and FAIRVIEW, IL. —Following overwhelming member approval of their consolidation earlier this month, Adams Telephone Co-Operative and Mid Century Telephone Cooperative have announced Synetic Connect as the name and brand of the new cooperative that will officially begin operating January 1, 2027.
The new name and brand were introduced to employees and cooperative members on Friday, September 18, marking another important milestone as the two organizations prepare to come together as one.
Members approved the consolidation during their respective Annual Meetings earlier this month. At Adams Telephone Co-Operative, 89% of voting members approved the consolidation, while 80% of voting members at Mid Century Telephone Cooperative voted in favor. Approval by both memberships was required for the consolidation to move forward.
“This is an exciting and historic time for Adams and Mid Century,” said Jim Broemmer, CEO of Adams Telephone Co-Operative and Mid Century Telephone Cooperative. “For more than 15 years, our organizations have worked closely together, sharing resources, expertise and a commitment to serving our members and communities. Now, with the support of our members, we have the opportunity to take that partnership forward as one cooperative and one organization — Synetic Connect.”
Introducing Synetic Connect
The Synetic Connect name and brand were developed to represent the connection of two organizations, their people and their shared commitment to the communities they serve.
The new identity reflects a forward-looking technology company while remaining grounded in the cooperative values, local relationships and commitment to service that have defined Adams and Mid Century for generations.
“Synetic Connect represents more than a new name or logo,” Broemmer said. “It represents what we are building together. We are bringing together the strengths, experience and history of two organizations to create a stronger cooperative that is prepared to serve our members and communities well into the future.”
The transition to the Synetic Connect brand will take place gradually over the coming months, with the new cooperative officially beginning operations January 1, 2027.
Honoring Our History, Building Our Future
Mid Century Telephone Cooperative was established in 1950, followed by Adams Telephone Co-Operative in 1952. While the organizations have operated as separate cooperatives for decades, they have worked closely together for more than 15 years, sharing leadership, employees, resources and expertise.
Leaders from both cooperatives emphasized that the new name does not mean leaving behind the history and relationships that have shaped each organization.
“Since 1952, Adams has been built on neighbors working together to bring essential services to our rural communities, and that commitment will not change,” said Daron Duke, President of the Adams Telephone Co-Operative Board of Directors. “As we become Synetic Connect, we have the opportunity to carry that history forward while building an even stronger cooperative for the generations to come.”
“Adams and Mid Century share the same cooperative values, commitment to local service and dedication to our communities,” said Michael Gray, President of the Mid Century Telephone Cooperative Board of Directors. “Synetic Connect allows us to bring the strengths of both organizations together while building on everything we have accomplished.”
What Members and Customers Can Expect
Members and customers should not experience any change in their day-to-day service. Adams and Mid Century will continue serving their respective members and customers during the transition, and no action is required from members at this time.
No employee will lose their job as a result of the consolidation. Synetic Connect will remain locally focused and member-driven, with the same commitment to providing quality service and supporting the communities served by both organizations.
Between now and January 1, members and customers will gradually begin seeing the Synetic Connect name and brand incorporated into communications, digital platforms, signage, vehicles and other materials.
Until the consolidation officially takes effect, members and customers should continue doing business with Adams and Mid Century as they normally would. Additional information will be provided as transition milestones are reached.
