Golden, IL— Adams Telephone Co-Operative held its 72nd Annual Meeting of Members on September 11, 2024, at their Cooperative headquarters in Golden. Over 450 people were in attendance for the evening’s festivities. The night included a meal prepared by the Mendon Lions, a business meeting, and drawings for cash prizes and bill credits.
At the business meeting, members were updated about Adams’ operations and re-elected Daron Duke to represent the Lima and Loraine exchanges and Tracy Lawson to represent the Fishhook, Chambersburg, and Hersman exchanges. Each Director will serve for a three-year term.
Jim Broemmer, CEO, shared, “Fiber optics are rapidly becoming the standard for broadband infrastructure, enabling service providers to meet the growing demand for faster internet connections and higher bandwidth. This transition to fiber is not without challenges, however. It requires substantial investment in infrastructure, including laying miles of fiber cable and upgrading existing networks to support these new capabilities. Even with these challenges, we have been able to make over $120 million dollars in fiber investment that today provides broadband services to over 21,000 customers. These revenues will be critical in supporting our organization well into the future.”
Members received product knowledge on the latest outdoor Wi-Fi units and GigaSpire, Arlo security cameras, and were assisted with streaming solutions. Members were also treated to Sno Cones by KC’s Tropical Sno and enjoyed lots of fun family activities.
