Mt. Sterling, IL – Mt. Sterling has officially been designated as a Smart Rural Community (SRC) by NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, powered by Adams Fiber. This prestigious recognition celebrates Mt. Sterling’s commitment to harnessing advanced technology to enhance the quality of life for its residents.

The announcement was made by Adams Board Director Tracy Lawson, representing District 2 – Chambersburg, Fishhook, and Hersman, who joined as a guest speaker at the presentation. Adams team members, Lori Miller, Marketing Coordinator, and Danielle Flesner, Graphic Designer, presented the award to Mt. Sterling Mayor Matt Bradbury and the City Council.

The Smart Rural Community designation spotlights Mt. Sterling as a leader in leveraging cutting-edge broadband technology. The city will now be featured on NTCA’s official Smart Rural Community website and within their outreach materials. Alongside this honor, Mt. Sterling received an official Smart Rural Community road sign, a certificate of recognition, and marketing resources to amplify this achievement.
By joining the NTCA’s Smart Rural Community program, Mt. Sterling becomes part of a growing national network of forward-thinking communities using powerful broadband solutions to promote progress in economic development, education, healthcare, and overall quality of life.
